I absolutely loved the cozy and charming decor of the lodge. The whole place had a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The general areas, such as the gardens and breakfast space, were beautifully maintained and provided a lovely setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings. As a senior woman, I really appreciated how accessible everything was. The staff were always ready to assist and made sure that I felt comfortable and cared for throughout my stay.
I wish there were more activities specifically tailored for senior guests.

We had an amazing stay at River Bend Lodge for my partner's birthday. The suite with private pool was a treat, and we even saw elephants wandering past while enjoying wine on the patio. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, especially on the game drives. The chef made a lovely birthday cake, and the evenings were quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended for a unique and memorable experience.

Amazing staff, food, accommodation, and game drives! Highlight was the night drive and star gazing. Private lodge in exclusive part of park, with elephants right at the fence. Expensive private tours with knowledgeable ranger. Spacious honeymoon suite, though not a fan of the colonial style. unforgettable and worth it.

The room at this lodge was absolutely amazing, spacious and the bathroom was incredible. It felt just like home! The staff here deserve a standing ovation! Tawanda, our game drive guide, had the sharpest eyes ever and helped us spot all the animals. Adrian and Temwani, the managers, were so attentive and welcoming. Luyanda and Moses, our food attendants, were always smiling, chatty and super friendly! They all went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. And the food at the restaurant was unbelievably delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The location was amazing, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and offering a unique safari experience. the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service throughout our stay. the food at the lodge was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. We also loved the elegant dining room and cozy log fire, adding a special touch to our meals. the spacious and comfortable rooms provided great views of the surrounding plains.
The rooms were in need of some maintenance and could use a bit of refurbishment. We also found it confusing to determine which night was considered "all inclusive", leading to unexpected charges for certain items.

The moment I arrived at River Bend Lodge, I knew I was in for a truly wonderful experience. From the warm greeting by the manager to the colonial-style main lodge, everything was full of character and old-world charm. My lodge was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bed and a stunning ensuite bathroom with an outdoor shower overlooking the beautiful landscape. The safari drives with the knowledgeable ranger were outstanding, and we even had the magical opportunity to see male and female lions in their natural habitat. The meals in the restaurant were superb, with original and inspiring dishes served in four courses. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic, with an amazing selection of fresh fruits, cold meats, cheeses, and cooked breakfast options. The high tea in the afternoon was an added delight, with beautifully crafted pastries and cakes. staying at River Bend Lodge was one of the most unique travel experiences of my life, thanks to the staff who were naturally friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this exceptional lodge.
Even though the lodge is just outside the main public Addo National Park, it has its own private area of the park, which is a fantastic advantage. However, the rooms were fairly small and modest, with outdated furnishings.
